Duties:
GROs provide full guided tours of the aquarium or help to interpret various galleries and special exhibits when and where they are assigned in the aquarium. Through our GROs visitors can learn about our aquatic animals, their habitats, their role in the ecosystem and the importance of conservation.
Requirements:
-College students in group application only. A minimum group size will be 8.
-Handle effective communication under noisy and crowded conditions.
-Possess a passion for learning and willing to share that knowledge with visitors at the aquarium.
-Well-organized.
-A typical day will have 8 hours of work.
Training:
Depending on our prior experience and level of commitment, a complete GRO training program would require volunteers to attend before being able to execute their required responsibilities.
Duties:
Assist our marketing or education staff in running outreach programs. This involves festivals and promotional events in surrounding neighborhoods as well as special events after hours at the Aquarium. If you cannot fit a regular weekly shift into your schedule, perhaps this is just the right spot for you.
Requirements:
-Must be 16 years or above.
-Posses an outgoing personality and enjoys meeting new people
-Responsible and willing to take direction from both volunteer and employee supervisors
-Typical hours each week: Project Basis
